The DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) is an internationally recognized test of French proficiency. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which defines language proficiency along six global levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. At each level, proficiency is measured across four competencies: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. France Education International awards successful candidates a diploma.

How do students know which level of test to take?

• Since 2014, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ has been pleased to be able to offer our students the opportunity to challenge the DELF
• The testing windows for the DELF sessions are chosen by FEI (France éducation international) and communicated to the Ontario Ministry DELF Centre, who in turn communicates these dates and times to school boards

DELF 2023 - 2024

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ is pleased to be able to offer our Grade 12 students in all three of our FSL programs (Core French, French Immersion and Extended French) the opportunity to challenge the DELF once again this academic year.Ìý This year, students will have two windows of opportunity to choose from.Ìý

This Spring, the DELF exams will occur the week of April 15, 2024.Ìý In conjunction with their FSL educators, students will choose which of the DELF levels they will challenge (B2, B1, A2, A1).Ìý Only students who have not previously challenged the DELF exams are eligible to participate.

Registration for the April DELF session begins on Monday, January 22, 2024 and closes on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at midnight.

1. Students must complete this form no later than March 3, 2024, at midnight.

2. Parents/Guardians must complete this which needs to be returned to their child’s FSL teacher no later thanÌýFriday, March 1, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.Ìý

3. An administration fee of $50.00 needs to be paid via School Cash Online with a link unique to your child's secondary school (your school secretary can assist with this)Ìýby Friday, March 1, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
